Came here on Sunday for lunch and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Calzone and it was one of the absolute best tasting meals I've ever had. Portions were large and the service was good. Sat on the outdoor patio overlooking the Clinton River and enjoyed everything about the experience. Will definitely return

This bar has such an awesome tiki bar and is right on the canal! Yet we go there every thursday after my boyfriends softball game which is sponsored by double d's and the service is terrible. I am a bartender/ server so I dont understand when noone is in there, besides our table why our drinks take so long. The bartender usually has noone at the bar and takes about ten minutes to pour a draft beer. This bar has so much potential but I can't imagine how the service would be if there more than two tables or more in there. It could be a gold mine. Location location location!

Having visited the trade center and trying to find lunch, we noticed as we were leaving the trade center, that there were a lot of people parked at Double D. We were a little apprehensive going to a place that sounded like it was a strip club with its name so we drove through downtown Mt. Clemens. No wonder there were a ton of people at Double D! Downtown Mt. Clemens was a ghost town on a Saturday afternoon. I think we were the only ones walking around during that short time frame. We circled back and decided we would give Double D a chance. The nachos are HUGE. Had we known that, I think we would have just went with the nachos alone. It was large enough to feed at least 3 people. This was the best part of our meal. Tacos were ok. They were only $1.50 or $1.75. I can't recall the price but definitely less than $2. The taco shells had a slightly stale taste to them. Chili dogs were only $1. These too were just OK. Service was prompt and friendly.

I only showed up here because I was confused and thought it was The Double Tree hotel, but to my surprise it worked out well. The service was snappy. The decor was pretty cool. The food all looked really unhealthy, and that's what I want at a bar. We split an alfredo calzone and one of the giant pretzels. Both of these were fantastic. I can't wait to go back in the summer when the patio is open on the river. I'd say check this place out, people.

This place gets a strong three stars. Just went for my first time on Saturday, and it was a great day to sit outside next to the water and enjoy the beautiful weather. The sun was blazing and I, unfortunately, was the person in our four-patron group to have to sit with my body most exposed in the heat. Yeah, my neck looks like a lobster now. The outdoor seating isn't bad, though. You can sit at the Tiki Bar, at tables near the Tiki Bar or at tables on the other side of the dock. You can literally roll your boat up to the dock, get out and get some food and drink and then sail away again. It's convenient. The service was bad at first ...it took over 10 minutes just to get our first round of drinks, and these weren't fancy drinks; they were beers on tap and a glass of wine. That was annoying considering it wasn't that busy and we were all thirsty as hell in 80-degree heat. The service got better after that first round. I ordered the half slab of ribs, which came with a soup or salad, vegetable (carrots, broccoli, squash) and choice of potato (fries, sweet potatoes, etc.) I got a Caesar salad with fries ... the salad was pretty good (I liked the dressing a lot) and the veggies were real good. The fries were just OK, nothing special at all. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, not too hard or too soft. Just right, like that one bear's porridge! The beers on tap are good too, from Erik the Red (Dragonmead) to Two Hearted (Bell's) to Oberon (Bell's) and then some. Good beers on tap is a good thing. This place seems to have something to eat for everyone. It's not a huge menu but most of the options look great, from seafood to pasta to burgers and meat. The appetizers are also pretty awesome, including a two-pound pretzel with cheese! I recommend this place for anyone, especially in the spring and summer months.

Went to this place for the second time yesterday. The first time was for beer and an appetizer at the bar, that visit was fine. This time was a nightmare. It took forever to get a beer. My boyfriend ordered a tall sam Adams seasonal beer after waiting 10 minutes, got a small boston lager instead and it took another 15 minutes. I got my long island first....the long island tasted great which was only one of 2 positives to this visit. Then we waited another 15 for soup that wasn't even clam chowder (what he ordered) then another 15 minutes for pulled pork sandiches for both of us. We both enjoyed the sandwiches quite a bit...once they arrived. Paying for the check took long enough my boyfriend got impatient and went to the bar to pay and get a box. We were there at least an hour for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. They weren't busy or understaffed, just no management or anyone who cared. I imagine the other five tables got bad service, I could see two did. Don't apologize double d, just fix it for the next guy. I won't be back for a meal, MAYBE a beer...

This place is such a hit or miss, we have been going there with friends since it was PJ's Riverhouse The building and location on the Clinton River are very nice and a great place in the summer to hang out on the patio, the newly renovated tiki bar on the river is a really cool spot to hang out sipping a cold beer. It seemed that the food and service were on the upswing from when they first opened and we started recommending the place to friends after a couple of really great meals but the last couple of times we stopped by we have been served mediocre food that was warm not hot by some pretty mediocre servers but it is a waterfront restaurant so mediocre is expected. The reason we won't be going back is the bathrooms.... as another reviewer stated they are DISGUSTING!!!! We stopped by for a drink at the tiki bar a couple of weeks ago and one of the men's urinal had a bag over it and the stall was filthy along with a dirty moldy sink that is in need of a good cleaning and new caulk job, today the bag was still there and most of the light bulbs were burnt out and it stunk. There is no excuse for a place that serves food to have filthy bathrooms, with so many good restaurants in the area they really need to step up their game.

Came here on a Friday night. Enjoyed the live band and the atmosphere. Tried the soft pretzel appetizer and was shocked on how large it actually was. The dipping sauces for the pretzel were pretty good. Drink specials were good as well and will be back.

Been wanting to stop in and check this place out so went out last weekend middle of the day and it was hot. We sat out on the deck and even though only one boat went by it felt nice just to be on the water. It had a real florida feel to it. They had a tiki bar off to the one side and several empty boat wells. The inside was quite spacious and looked well kept. I had a double cheese burger with 3 kinds of cheese(you get to pick 3 from their list, kind of cool), and even had a fried egg & bacon on it. It was not cheap though...$13 and change for a burger but it was huge and a good burger. I cut it in half so I could attack it proper and finished the first half in no time but by the time I got to the second half I skipped most of the bun and just ate the rest. It was two (2) 8oz beef pattys so that plus fries and it was a good deal of food for a hot summers day. My guest had the chicken wings and said they were good too. She took a fair portion home with her as well. We both enjoyed the lazy relaxed feeling the place had and decided we would definitely come back another time at night when it was hopping.

I was able to get some discount awards from work to give the Double D a try. The place has a ton of potential. It is on a great location with access from the road, as well as access from the Clinton River. The food was good. I had the Southwest Detroit Burger while my wife had the Fish and Chips. Our daughter (10) ordered fish and chips from the kids menu. Atmosphere the place can be better. It has a corner behind the fish tank that seems to be nothing more than storage. It was not a pleasant thing for my wife and daughter to look at during dinner. On the other side of the fish tank is the Hostess Station. The sign said please wait to be seated. We were assigned our table and given three adult menus. After a few minutes a young waitress by the name of Ariel approached our table. We asked if there was a kids menu and seemed put off by our question. She got the kids menu for us. We had to ask for crayons to keep our daughter occupied while she took our drink orders. This young lady did not seem at all interested in determining what we wanted and kept darting her eyes around the room. We asked about a drink menu and she directed us to the draft tap on the table. My wife asked what was in the Angry Lemon from Angry Orchard and Ariel did not know. Our drinks were in hand and off we went. Ariel put our orders into the POS and we waited for her return to take our order. Again a very lackadaisical approach to her job and no enthusiasm. The food arrived hot and good. Take into consideration that this a bar and grill. The only difference between the Adult and Kids Fish and Chips was an extra piece of fish on my wife's plate over my daughters. The Burger was a pre-formed pattie. This was not made on site but the Massive Onion ring was. As for the reason for two stars. The table to the right of us was a daughter and husband/boyfriend of one of the waitresses. She spent a long time standing by the table. We also had a complete view of the wait station and the hostess station. At times I counted thirteen staff just standing around talking at this location. It seemed like too many people scheduled. There were 8 tables in side and a 8 more outside. This almost equates to a sever per table. Perhaps it was the 6:30 timeframe. But without better levels of service and adequate staffing levels for the volume of business this place will not stand the test of time.

Across from the entrance to Gibraltar Trade Center, this used to be Allen's Riverhouse & Coyotes Sports Bar. Their parking lot has been full in recent months, so I figured I'd stop in for lunch and see how they're doing. I was greeted at the door, and shown to a table near the windows overlooking the river as it slowly passed by. Lisa, my server, greeted me promptly and took my drink order. I noticed the background music seemed a bit loud, so I guess it really doesn't qualify as background music. After a while, I became absorbed in reading the news online and didn't notice the music as much. The menu had a selection of sandwiches and I settled on the East Sider, a stacked roast beef sandwich with grilled onions and peppers, stuffed into a submarine bun, sliced in half. A side of french fries and a pickle slice are included. The meal was excellent! My service was excellent! Two other tables with couples both seemed to have excellent service, in fact the patrons at one of those tables came in after me and concluded their meal before I did. Yes, service was good. My only complaint, and this was a total surprise to me, was when I paid the bill, I handed over $22.14, precisely $10 over the bill amount, expecting to get back a $10 bill as change. As luck would have it, I received a $5 and $1's. But instead of 5 1's, she brought back 3 1's, explaining that she assumed I wanted to leave a $2 tip. Actually, I was going to leave $2.50, but that was of my choosing, not her's. So I dropped a couple quarters in her hand, as she already retained the 2 bucks I was going to leave. In-experience or arrogance, I can not decide. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt and lean towards inexperience. Again, my service was excellent. P.S. I just noticed that this review is a sort of milestone for me - out of the '1st Reviews' I have written, this is my 500th - I hope it is a good omen for the business! I will go back, but please, to all the waitstaff out there serving in restaurants, allow me decide how much to tip. It's much less embarrassing to both you and me if the service isn't up to par. And I generally tip well for services rendered.

Absolutely fantastic! Best Perch dinner around. Drinks were not watered down, waitstaff excellent! This is definitely going to be a go-to place! Get there before the band arrives that makes talking impossible.

Maybe its just the winter, or we got there too early, but this place was empty last Friday. Not sure if they're gonna make it. We had two beers and left. Might stop back in when the weather is better.

Went with a group to hear the band (Friend of a friend in it). Very friendly staff, very good service. Food is OK bar food - burgers were good, Nachos had cheese whiz type topping, just so so . Many varieties of beer. Saw a lot of kids running around so I assume it is kid friendly. Want to go back in the summer and sit on the deck by the river.

We were greeted by the hostess right away and seated very quickly considering it was Friday night. The waitress was very attentive and took very good care of us. I ordered 1/2 slab of ribs. It came with Chicken Noodle Soup, veggies and a baked potato. All were very good. The ribs had tons of meat and the sauce was great. It was a little sweet, but had a little spice. That whole meal is $9.95, what a great deal. My husband had the eastsider and it was huge and he loved it. The kids had a calzone. It was huge and it could have fed 6 kids, but I only have 2. Beers were ice cold, no complaints from us. Nice addition to the area, can't wait to check out the deck on the river this summer.

First time visit last Saturday - great live music, and a really good meal (I had fish n chips, my husband had a quesadilla dish) - the chicken noodle soup was outstanding, the food was served quickly, hot and very tasty. Friendly service - great prices too

If it were not for the outside tiki bar the place is generic. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. They came after our soup. They have a sign on the wall for a jalapeno margaritas with fresh jalapeno and the bartender did not know how to make it. They made it with pickled jalapeno., which made it have a vinegar taste. When we sent it back he was rude and made comments we could hear. The fries were soggy and so was the fried fish. The bathroom was disgusting. Broken door on the stall do you could see in and one urinal out of order. The sink had mold around around it. There's better places to spend my money.

Really good food. Love that they use biodegradable take out containers. I wish they had a tad more healthier options on the menu. The salads (except for the Caesar) are all made from iceberg. Zero nutritional value there. Great little location on the river and such a fun place on a sunny afternoon in the summer.

This place has a great beer selection and a very friendly staff. We like to sit on the back deck overlooking the Clinton River during the summer. They have a guitar player there a few evenings during the week and you almost feel like you're down in Florida. We've only ordered appetizers but they've all been good.
